Description and purpose

In the construction industry, the new third-grade reinforcing bars produced using the vanadium-nitrogen alloying technology feature increased strength, enhance the safety and earthquake resistance of buildings, and consume 10%-15% less than the second-grade reinforcing bars. Based on this, the annual consumption of reinforcing bars can be reduced by about 7.5 million tons, and correspondingly the annual mining of iron ore concentrate, coal and related auxiliary raw materials can be reduced by about 12.4 million tons, 6.6 million tons, and 3.3 million tons, respectively.

In addition, the emission of waste gas such as carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide are greatly reduced. Therefore, the vanadium-nitrogen alloy achieves the dual benefits of resource saving and environmental protection.

Vanadium-nitrogen alloy can be used in structural steel, tool steel, pipeline steel, reinforcement, and cast iron. Vanadium-nitrogen alloy used in high-strength low-alloy steel can simultaneously promote the microalloying of vanadium and nitrogen and the precipitation of carbon, vanadium and nitrogen compounds in the steel. It can also reinforce the sedimentation and refine the grain.

Production process

Vanadium-nitrogen alloy is made of vanadium pentoxide, carbon powder and activator at 1,500-1,800℃ under the protection of atmospheric pressure and nitrogen atmosphere. The key processing equipment is a continuous high-temperature furnace with an atmosphere push-plate, which uses electrical heating elements such as silicon-molybdenum rods to obtain the heat source.
